In Release 36.1, SOMA adds updates to several system areas such as DISPATCH, MOBILE, RECORDS, and to our brand new application, called LOCATE. Check it out!

Please review the full release notes in the link below:

DISPATCH

Add A Person To A Call From The Command Line

Audience: Dispatchers

As a dispatcher, you can add a person to a call for service from the Command Line, so you do not have to use the Graphical User Interface to enter a person the call. This update will increase your productibility and performance by letting you utilize your time more efficiently.

Monitor Map Toggle From Command Line

Audience: Dispatchers

As a dispatcher, you have the capability to toggle the map on and off for monitor calls from the Command Line. This upgrade is beneficial to avoid distractions, it allows you to display more columns and to increase the speed of the system.

Dispatch Nearby Call Modal Hidden By Columns

Audience: Dispatchers

As a dispatcher, you can view and act on any nearby calls regardless of which view you are in. In addition, when multiple columns are displayed, the column no longer hides the selection of the recent call. This improvement to the nearby call modal is helpful because you can have a complete view of all the calls for a faster and more prompt response.

Make Area In An Active Call A Text Select Component

Audience: Dispatchers

As a dispatcher, you can now utilize the Active Call Text Select Component in active calls. You can go to the call info tab, select a different area from the dropdown menu by selecting your preference. (i.e., if you want to choose by law, you can quickly decide and select law). This feature will allow you to maximize your job performance by using your time productively.

MOBILE

Update Unit Status To On-Scene

Audience: Officers/Deputies & Dispatchers

In MOBILE, we improved the application by allowing the unit display in the DISPATCH application as on-scene. This improvement is beneficial because when an officer/deputy creates a call from MOBILE and has the on-scene status, DISPATCH can view the officer's on-scene status and monitor the officer's safety.

RECORDS

Highlight Mandatory Fields In Records

Audience: General

(No Audio)

In RECORDS, if users did not fill in mandatory fields, the error would go away after saving. However, we made an improvement that causes the error to remain on the displaying screen, so the user knows they still need to enter and complete the required field. This improvement is helpful because now you are notified which field you need to enter to avoid errors and utilize your time more effectively.

LOCATE

AVL Playback

Audience: Dispatchers & First Responders

Note: *SOMA Locate is currently in the beta testing phase, and it is not available to all platform users.

In LOCATE, you can go to the SOMA LOCATE vehicle icon on the right side of your screen and click on it; then, you will be taken to the historical mode, where you can search by AVL ID. After you enter the AVL ID, you will be shown the previous locations for that unit. This new feature will allow you to replay the route, and it will let you see where the officer or deputy might have been at different times. This new feature will be beneficial for different types of investigations.

LOCATE

Reorder AVL Sidebar

Audience: Dispatchers & First Responders

Note: *SOMA Locate is currently in the beta testing phase, and it is not available to all platform users.

In LOCATE, you can go to the SOMA LOCATE vehicle icon on the right side of your screen and click on it; then, you can see a new order in the search gray button with an asterisk which is a required field. For example, you can enter the AVL ID, then the search icon will turn blue, so you can next click on it to search. This feature will allow you to filter utilizing different types of dates, status, vehicle numbers, or unit numbers. This new feature can be a lifesaver if you are working on determining the sequence of events of an investigation.
