Units may be assigned to handle calls in one area of the jurisdiction one day and a different area the next shift.

Dispatchers may work on one terminal for the first half of a shift and another terminal for the second half.

Users can update their own assignments by clicking on their profile in either Dispatch or Mobile and clicking the area where their user’s name, email, agency, and assigned area are located.

The select operating area box will appear. In SOMA Dispatch, the box shows the operating area and the terminal assignment and in SOMA Mobile the box shows assigned area, unit number, and AVL ID.

Users can change their coverage area, terminal ID or AVL ID, click submit and recheck the assignment area to see the new area. The purpose of updating assignments is to cover a different area as a Dispatch or Mobile User. Users will only see calls and units in their assigned areas.
