Each Call Type has a short code of either an abbreviation or numeric code, which can be used to create a call from the command line. On the command line, use the Call Type code followed by the unit and other details such as the address, complaints name, comments, vehicle info, etc., can be entered using the appropriate code following a dash as needed.
Other details such as the address, complaints name, comments, vehicle info, etc., can be entered using the appropriate code following a dash as needed.
Example:
The address/location uses -A or -a, so a call at 760 Colbert St would be entered as -a 760 colbert st. The system will bring up a list underneath the command line for the user to confirm the correct location when the user hits enter. The proper location should be clicked on to map the call.
Comments will be entered as -C or -c, so any comments such as additional information like a person or vehicle description can be connected to the call. These comments will appear in the comments pane of the call.
The code VD or vd is used for vehicle descriptions such as FL abc123. This will put the information into the vehicle involvement and also put the license plate in the comments. The user can run the plate by clicking on the plate in red from the comments.
The letter P or p is the code used to enter the phone number of the caller, and the letter N or n is the code used to put their name in the call.
Users can also use the New Call command of NC to bring up the Call Intake form if they don’t want to use the complete call command.
This tutorial has covered creating a call using the command line and using the different dash subcommands to put information in the right fields.
